Subject: Website not secure

attention, admins...the website isn’t secure. If you open it via latest Firefox, it will tell you exactly what the problem is...it seems to be related to password safety, but I am not sure.

BE KIND FARM is looking for one or two gardener / caretakers to nuture award winning heirloom tomatoes and raised bed crops, native bees, hummingbirds, ravens and our beloved husky dog guardian. The entire farm is fenced and forested, with open spaces and abundant with wildlife.

This 2.8 acre sane and sober farm has 2 ponds teaming with frogs n dragonflies. There is a large barn 40' Wide, 70 ' Long and 40' Tall - the PEACE BARN, located 3 miles from the pristine Mendocino County coastline. I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to express my gratitude for the Farmers Guild and for the folks at Farms Reach for building such an amazing community to connect to. At every single Guild meeting I have gained something valuable--perspective, advice, resources, and information. This helps me stay on track and keep me connected to the needs of farmers so that in my own work I can make the best decisions on what is going to be the best for them when tackling issues of local food access in Sonoma County. I hope that I have made the same contribution to the community. Again, thank you for all that you do.

FarmsReach hit another milestone last week with the launch of our new Source Directory, an interactive guide to CA agricultural organizations, contractors, input suppliers, lenders, and all things farming. A big thank you to theFarmsReach community for referring us to all of your favorite businesses and organizations!

For the launch, it contains only the organizations and businesses that our members have recommended, and so we'll be expanding them further in the new year. So far, there are over 300 listings, which include everything from potato seed to accredited organic consultants to software business tools to bio-fertilizers to equipment to bookkeepers to auctions to deer fences....

You can read more about the launch in our blog.

And, do check it out and let us know what you think: http://www.farmsreach.com/welcome/source-directory/

Mobile Marketing-Its NOT That Hard To Do! The rapid rise of smart phones and tablets has flatfooted many marketing managers and delivering marketing messages and content that is optimized for mobile platforms is becoming a “must”. Increasingly consumers are viewing content, receiving emails and buying products from “small screens”. Get ready: a new local food ordering economy is upon us. You could very well be delivering much of your farm-fresh produce in the near future to someone who ordered your products from their phone or tablet. Mobile technology has moved from very expensive custom software development to inexpensive, elegant easy-to-use interface that people like to engage with and are familiar with using to make purchases.   Curious if members feel if the farming community is ready to embrace mobile technology to market, communicate with and sell products to their customers?

I would also recommend adding Wilamette nurseries and Fowler Nurseries to the list of rootstock suppliers for those who want to graft their own trees as the current list of nurseries specializes in finished grafted trees.

After a long, long season of building this out, the site is finally live! A million thanks to all the farmers and organizations who helped us design this, and now we welcome you to give us IDEAS and FEEDBACK on how we can make this awesome for you... Please browse around and post your thoughts.   We'll also be at EcoFarm, so come hang out in our Idea Lounge in the Exhibitor Tent near Cafe Mam. :)
