I have Land or Space

Headline: Hayward urban farm rental home

I have a small two bedroom home in Hayward (Bay Area) that will be on the rental market by the end of this year (not Stonybrook Canyon Farm in Castro Valley). I have previously used this property to grow food for the San Leandro food bank. We grew/donated over two tons of produce from this property in 2012. There are 20 mature fruit/grapes on the property, a chicken coop, and an irrigation system. The property is 1/2 acre, shared by two homes. so isn't large enough to operate as a full profit-motivated farm, but would be a great place for farming oriented people to live and still be in the bay area. One home is already rented but the second home will be listed for rent by the end of the year. That second home is in back with roughly a quarter acre of back yard. It is three blocks from the downtown Hayward BART station and now that the property is being listed for rent I would love to find a tenant who

Headline: West Sonoma 1- 1/2 acre plots with Abundant Water

Pepper Lane Farm near Petaluma is still looking for farmers to adopt some of our fields and help us form a small farm community.

We will do a barter arrangement for land management (e.g. periodic irrigation and fencing maintenance, mowing, or carpentry, etc) and/or small crop share. We have a new greenhouse for seed starts, several fields with gentle slope, excellent soil and abundant potable water, a 1/4 acre unused leachfield suitable for flowers or shallow-root non-edibles, and 600 linear ft of terraces that need cultivation. Seasonal grazing also welcome.(We have apple and olive orchards and heirloom tomatoes in production onsite now).

Please contact me at reneelrobin@gmail.com if you have experience, funding/equipment for your own operation and community spirit. (Sorry, no housing available at this time).

Headline: We need enthusiastic help growing organic healthy food in a gourgouse but poor rural community N-Cal

We basicly have a one acre garden on the creek on a river. Nice silty soil, was blackberry. We have only just started its our third season. Doing compost piles and bed developement. Have built one hoop house and will do another. The entire area is fenced and then cross fenced. We have two golden retrievers.

We need help with all aspects of the garden especially planting, cultivation and harvesting. We would like to find some one really enthusiastic that loves to garden. We are open to letting you help decide how we do things and what we grow. You could sell produce and help distribute food. We are a couple in our late 50s doing this because we want to grow healthy food. But we can only do so much in a day. We would like to have chikens. We could do a hay and feed store if we wanted to. We like the market garden and Urban farmer models we are studying. The property is zoned commercial and has two

Headline: Los Angeles Chef-Restaurateur Seeking Farm Collaboration

We are a team of creative restaurateurs opening a new project in mid city Los Angeles this Spring 2018. Our goal is to collaborate with a farm in a unique and dynamic way, outside of the typical provider/ buyer relationship.

This collaboration can be achieved in a variety of ways, ultimately providing stability for both the restaurant and the farm via the following:

  • The restaurant will have access to a consistent and original source of quality vegetables, fruits, flowers and honey.
  • Planting schedules and menu development will coincide, allowing the teams to develop creative applications for all materials throughout their lifecycle.
  • The farmer will have access to a predictable and stable source of revenue, providing security for planning and investment.

Our team is sensitive not only to the variety and the quality of the produce, but also to the methodology with which it has been produced. Are we

Headline: Great opport. to settle in Seattle, learn to Urban Farm on 0.2 Acres while getting housing. You farm

This is a beginner Urban Farm internship. You need to come with very specific ideas of what you are wanting to do. You need to be physically and mentally (having the skills) able to carry out those ideas. There is a new 1000 sq ft living space (livingroom, kitchen, shower, lg. closet, & bedroom) on the third floor for one person. As long as you are working the land at least 4 hrs per week you may use live in that space for $600/month. So you will need to have a source of income outside of the property.

Right now the whole garden is in large cloth pots filled with organic soil, it is moveable.

Prime opportunity for someone skilled in farming to come check out life in the NW. 15 miles from downtown Seattle = daytime 40 minute drive.

Watch Curtis Stone videos from Kelowna Canada to know what I am thinking about.

You do need to have extensive farming or landscaping or gardening experience &/or Agriculture
