Training of Farmer Trainers

The Training of Farmer Trainers program is intended for people in the Riverside / Inland Empire with knowledge in sustainable agriculture and food justice that are passionate about teaching and building community, and that want to contribute with their work to ensure the success of small and medium scale diversified farms as one of the core producers of sustainable, fresh and healthy food in the U.S.

This training for trainer program features the following topics:

  • The state of farming and food systems in the United States
  • Urban agroecology and food justice movements
    Experiential learning, popular education and knowledge exchange
  • Urban farm business planning
  • Incubating beginning farmers
  • Designing comprehensive beginner farmer training curricula
